i made this book with a felt cover!

i found this lady's blog a long time ago    learndaily.blogspot.com

and i was looking at it and remembered that i really need to start drawing everyday or i will loose my ability.  and i was also thinking of my new found philosophy; which is "DIY or die"  so instead of going out and buying a sketchbook, i stayed up all night and made one myself!  i'm pretty proud of it. but i haven't drawn anything yet......
i made this hat for kevin on tour. we were in astoria, oregon. which ended up being one of my favorite places. i don't know how we started talking about it. but i said i'd make him a hat. so we went to joann's and he picked out and bought the yarn for his hat and yarn for a hat for me. ... sweet guy!

so this is his hat for his europe trip. which he left for right when we got home. he'll be in sweden when it starts to get really cold. this will keep him warm i hope.

handmade rev!!

here are some books i made for the handmade revolution. and above are the finger puppets i posted about earlier. i sold all the cloud books, they were my favorite too! but none of the ax books or finger puppets.
i'm on tour right now with my band, and i brought the finger puppets along with me to sell. i sold two the other night!

bronto and stego

here are some stegos and something new! brontos!!! i made them for the 3rd handmade revolution at viento y agua. i made many more than what's pictured, but i only sold one. they put the crafters out back this year so it was a pretty slow event. i guess it's good cuz i won't have to work as hard for the next one, and when i get back from my trip and get around to starting my etsy shop, i will actually have stuff to put in it.

wow, i suck at updating latley, sorry. i made these for my sisters baby shower. it was a fairy tail theme. so i came up with this for the invitations. when they were all done, my mom wrote "once upon a time" on the front, and "a princess was about to be born" on the inside, along with all the shower info. i think they turned out pretty cute

today i have a much needed day off! so i'm finishing up things that have been on my to do list for quite a while. first, i made a thank you card for my great uncle ernie, (pictured above) then i finished my nephews birthday present. it'll be more than a month late but i don't think he'll care (he's only one!)

i haven't had much time for crafting lately, but a few weeks ago i was making a lot of these bear finger puppets to sell. they are like siblings. they look alike but each one is unique

garden tales

here is some new garden stuff! the picture on top is the plant my friend rhea gave me for christmas. i think i mentioned that coincidentaly, i gave her the exact same plant! well mine isn't doing that well but today i found a little flower on it. it's blurry in the picture. i'm still trying to figure out how to work my new mac, so that's why the picture is sideways. below is a carrot from my garden. me and rhea were going to make stir-fry, so i suggested we look at how big my carrots were, they've been growing in my yard for months. we pulled one up and it was so tiny, so adorable!

vigina pear

i made this for kim's birthday. many drunken comments were made on it's resemblance to a vagina. i kinda knew that was going to happen. i based the pear image on a picture i got from an old retro crafting book. i tried but couldn't make it look any less vagina like, at least i didn't make a peach. i think she was a women's studies major anyways.

family tree's winter e.p.

i've been making these for months! they are covers for my bands first e.p. release. i still have so many more to make...

damn... my friends know just what i need

so i'm trying to get rid of a lot of the crap that i have, but i'm only doing it to make room for more craft supplies! a few weeks ago my friend rhea gave me a whole garbage bag of fabric that her friend was gunna throw away. most of the fabric on the shelf here is mine but the stuff rhea gave me accounts for a good third of it. and today my friend kim gave me a bunch of fabric and yarn cuz she's moving into a smaller place. all the stuff she gave me is on the floor. i am simply overjoyed!
note: i need more fabric because my band is doing a video for a song, and we're animating the whole thing with fabric in stop motion. can you help?
another note: for some reason i can't get my spell check to work anymore. i hope no one minds the mistakes

sweater match! but not falling in love material

i'm happy to announce that i found a perfect match for my sweater! i'm not sure why i didn't think of him before, but it's perfect for him! i have a sweater just like it but for girls that i used to wear a long time ago. i'm gunna put a forrest on that one two and then if i'm lucky i can find a matching one for kevin and our little band will have matching uniformes. YES!!

i finally finished chris' christmas preasent. only a month and a half late! it's a stuffed garden gnome cuz he likes garden gnomes. but i didn't take a good picture because i kinda think it's ugly. last year for christmas i made him a stuffed tofu doll. i wonder what he really thinks about these presents.

craft weekend part 2!

i spent a full day making the old man prints and lost an entire night of sleep making the little girl prints. they are both what are called suicide prints, made with a rubber lino block. i made a bunch of them and obviousley put a lot of time into them. and then sold only one little girl print. that was kind of a bummer. but they really filled out my table. without them it would have looked really empty

here are two of the new books i made. there are more but they're not that interesting. the fabric is like prom dress fabric. all shiny and fancy.

and the best for last! the sweater was another goodwill find. and i added a forest to it! i L-O-V-E this sweater. it might be my favorite thing i've ever made... ever! but now i have to deal with the problem of selling it. it's big so it won't fit everyone. and i feel like i cant sell it unless it's to the right person. also, i feel like, when i meet the perfect person for the sweater, i will meet the perfect person for me. the boy who wears this sweater will be the boy i fall in love with, get it? or maybe i will just fall in love with any boy who puts it on.

......like this guy

craft weekend. part 1

over the weekend i did two craft shows!

here is a recap of both. the first one was in downtown LA, my new favorite place. it was in this totally rad space and i met some nice people. and it was slow but i still sold a few things.

and the second one was at the que sera. it was in conjunction with a sukka free sunday show, which i usually do sound for. i got there way late and then had to run back and forth between the sound board and my table. but luckally my buddy josh showed up and helped me out. for which i owe him a burrito. i made a few bucks here and also saw a bunch of new crafters. many boy crafters which i liked, but i didn't have the guts to talk to any of them. as per usual

here's me at my booth at the i made it market. this is an awkward picture of me. as is every picture of me. also, this is at the bigenning of the show which is an awkward time for me. i can't explain why.

i made a couple polaroid photo albums. with what else but a polaraid camera on the front! people seemed to like them

i got some shirts from the goodwill and embelished them. i sold them both to the same girl at the que sera show. i was stoked!

part two comming directly. please ignore the spelling mistakes if you can

my friend chris lynch loves my honeybees song, so i made him a honeybee finger puppet and a little brown bear to keep him company.

this paper cutter was the best purchase i ever made!

Friday, January 11, 2008

eewww... i'm so disgusted at myself for how bad i am at keeping this updated. i feel like i've been crafting non-stop, but never seem to have anything to put up here.

well.... for the christmas season i made this bunny for my friend jenna to give to her boyfriend russel, because russel bought a giraffe that i made and has been bugging me to make him an elephant, but then jenna said that his favorite animal was a bunny. i should mention here that russel is very macho and no questions about his manhood should arise here.

i made a scarf for my roommate. but i forgot to take a picture of it. after i gave it to him we went to a bar and there were these gross ladies dancing, and he went out and started dancing with them, wrapping the scarf around them and reeling them in. it was funny, and at the same time, not that funny.

and i also make a pair of rad mittens for my good friend clarke. i also forgot to take a picture of them, even though i had envisioned the perfect picture of clarke with his mittens on. and i'm making this amazing present for chris, and i still have to make daniel's present. i figure they are the two people who know me best and wont mind if their christmas presents are a few weeks late.

here's what my christmas tree looked like... very crafty!
